Violet - the color of the year 2022
In 2022, it is impossible to escape from it. Violet is everywhere - in clothing and footwear stores, in interior design and accessories. You'll find it on phone covers, drugstores, sportswear, and underwear. But no one should be surprised, it is after all the colour of the year according to Pantone. Veri Peri, because that's exactly what the colour is called, is a beautiful shade of lavender, but this year purple can be found in every edition - from dark plum to delicate lilac. The purple colour has a huge number of variants, so you can perfectly match its shade to your complexion or the current interior design. It is rare in nature, which is why purple has always been associated with elegance, wealth and luxury. Over the centuries, it was the colour of rulers, which is why in many countries and cultures it is associated with power and dignity, but it also brings to mind magic and mystery.
Cool or warm tone?
Violet is a secondary colour, meaning it is made up of a combination of primary colours, in this case, red and blue. Depending on the proportions in which the primary colours are added, violet can be a cool or warm colour. If you're adding purple to your wardrobe, it's worth checking if your complexion has warm or cool tones. With a properly selected shade of purple, your skin will glow. And what to combine purple with? The colour looks great in the company of its complementary colour, i.e. yellow and its derivative colours. In elegant combinations, purple accents can accompany brown and beige, they will look great in the company of gold. In the company of pink and blue, it will give a delicate, girlish character to the styling. In summer, however, it will present itself sensational in the company of white. Violet interior arrangements or stylizations can also be varied with green accents.
Violet and its power
The colour associated with power and people of influence is usually also attributed to generous and sensitive people. The colour itself has a calming effect and helps reduce stress. Violet is to help you control your emotions and focus. It is the colour of concentration, so it can be great in a studio or office. Violet is a colour that uplifts, inspires and encourages action. It can drive mental work as well as creative activities. Shades of purple can be introduced into your space if you need calmness, help in focus and creative stimulation.
