Houndstooth fabric - always fashionable and elegant design
The famous houndstooth resembling a crooked checker dates back to the third century Scandinavia. Later, it appeared on woollen blankets created by the Scots in the seventeenth century. The houndstooth fabric had its debut among the high society in the nineteenth century, thanks to Prince Charles of Wales, who cheerfully wore suits relating to the famous design. The characteristic checker was made famous all over the world by Coco Chanel. Since the 1920s, it has ultimately become a universal graphic design. Taking into consideration the historical overview of the houndstooth, we have to mention Geoffrey Beene, who decided to break the black and white style of the pattern and gave it colour. Today, the houndstooth fabric still enjoys popularity. It is used both in clothing outfits and interior design. Its purchase indicates a step towards timeless motifs that never are out of fashion.

The unique character of a houndstooth outfit
The houndstooth fabric can become a decoration of nearly every element of the wardrobe. It looks great on a skirt, which can be combined with a shirt to receive an elegant outfit for an evening outing. Nothing is stopping you from sewing a jacket in this pattern. Irregular checker is also used to create less official but equally tasteful outfits. Just decide on a pair of trousers with this decoration. The houndstooth fabric will also work well as an ornamental accessory. You can use it to add variety to your shirt, coat or purse.
The houndstooth fabric in interior design

The houndstooth fabric looks great in retro interiors. In a room, it is worth applying to furniture such as a sofa, armchair or pouffe, because it works well as an upholstery fabric. Fashion, also in interiors, is not fond of limitations. Hence, houndstooth also looks great in modern rooms. It can be used to decorate the back or seat of a piece of furniture and combine it with, for example, a plain fabric. With the help of the previously mentioned pattern, you can create original accessories to the apartment, including pillowcases, spreads for a sofa or a bed in the bedroom. Thanks to the houndstooth fabric, with a bit of imagination, you can give the interior a unique design. Through different colours, fitting the right shade to the needs of the entire arrangement is not a problem. Adjusting the size of the pattern allows you to enlarge or reduce a particular space optically.
